In March, Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt refused to ban chlorpyrifos, a pesticide used on staple foods like corn, wheat, apples and citrus. This decision neglects the agency’s own science and puts millions at risk. Now California has a real opportunity to step up and be a national leader on this issue.

This toxic pesticide that has been linked to reduced IQ and attention deficit disorder in children is still widely used.

It’s time for California to lead the way and ban the pesticide that Trump’s EPA chief won’t.
