The Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) Animation Project is an office of the Province of St. Barbara OFM Franciscan, a decentralized, grass roots organization whose roughly 200 members base their lives and ministries on the spirituality of St. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi.    This web-site is not a “stand alone” but exists in concert with many other sites created by local organizations who also serve under the umbrella of the St. Barbara Province (e.g. websites for St. Francis Center (L.A.); Mission San Luis Rey, Oceanside CA; St. Elizabeth Parish, Oakland; Casa Paz y Bien (retreat center, Scottsdale); and our Province Web-site, St. Barbara Province, OFM).  The goal of this site is to affirm our decentralized nature and at the same time offer a coordinated message focused on the distinctively Franciscan approach to justice, peace, and care for creation.  By “animation” of justice, peace, and the integrity of creation we mean encouraging and challenging the members of the Province and their collaborators to incorporate these values in our lives and in the work we do in all these various places.  As a resource of stories, interviews, text, photographs, updates that reflect a contemporary expression of this 800-year-old tradition, the web-site is a major tool of this animation.
